No More Mice.
Have found this very effective. Buy a small bottle of oil of cloves from the chemist. Pour some into a shallow dish or lid of jar. Place where mice are and they will vanish immediately. (NOT TO BE TRIED ON KIDS ) ha ha

Make your own Bird Hospital.
For those times when your bird is not well for some reason, most vets will tell you that the first thing you need to do is to keep your bird warm and isolated from the others.

Well here is a hospital cage (box) you can make easily.
You will need the following items -
A medium size cardboard box . A 20w to 40w light globe.
A lead lamp this is a common power lead with the female end
(end not plugged to wall) cut off and a lamp or light fitting attached to it.
Get your box and fold over 3 of the flaps choose a corner and cut a slot into it so that you can slide the lead along it.
Get your lead and tie a knot in it at a length so that with the light in the fitting it will hang about 6 to 8 inches from the bottom of the box.
Slide the lead in with the light hanging be sure it is 3 to 4 inches from any of the sides so the light does not present a fire hazard
(be sure the globe never comes in touch with the sides) adjust knot up and down to desired length
(the knot stops the lead falling into the box).
Lay some warm cloth on the bottom of the box (washable) place food and water in appropriate containers into the box turn the light on and place sick or injured bird into box. Light should have been mounted at one end of the box so the bird can move closer or away from the heat source as required.
When finished nursing the bird throw away the box for disease or infection reasons
(it was free from the supermarket anyway)
Do NOT use any more than a 40w bulb because it will give of to much heat for the bird, a RED or COLOURED bulb is better for not giving of so much bright light.
But not necessary white light will do.
Make sure BOX has air holes in it for circulation.
